Thanks for the comment Scott, it's been a little while. Buzz was a bit premature in telling you that I had passed away, it' on the calendar, but I haven't been told just when. I can wait! You might want to listen to the interview with Al McCoy...http://www.normradio.com/2010/09/10/full-al-mccoy-interview/.

Hey Norm,

Great to hear your interview with Kit Carson. Thanks for highlighting the good years of being in radio. Things have changed a lot with all the big corporations taking over the industry but I was lucky enough to get my own stations in Las Vegas, a few years ago. check us out on the internet at kjul1047.com and kool1023.com. Buzz Jones told me that you had passed away, a few years back and then Buzz passed away. Anyway, it was a surprise to catch you on the web. Good luck with you blog! call me some time at 702-683-6070. signing off. Scott

Sorry it took me two days to see your comment.

Somewhere I have kit's email address and when I get it I will pass it on.

He's now in Hawaii, still an attorney and seems to be happy in what is happening in his life. Worst case, I will get in touch with Bob Shanon who I email every once in a while. He's out in LA and has an acting school. He seems to have kept in better touch with KRUX DJs. After I left KRUX, and went to KOOL for about 7 years, I never had any contact with one of them until last years' reunion. And to be honest that too has been limited.

I watched your Dad, and always thought he did a great job.

I live in Scottsdale, "retired" in 2005 but at that point I had not been in broadcasting for almost 10 years.

We don't need to hash it over, happy where I am now and look at the future rather than the past. I have done some voice over work, but to be honest don't advertise that I'm here.

I never really pushed myself about working, that might be why I never went into a "big Time" market.

Give me a couple days and I will get back to you with Kit's email.

Hi Norm!

I have never met you personally, but I'm well aware of your name. My name is Chris Peddie, the son of the late Frank Peddie (KTAR weatherman)who died in 1994.

I found your interview with Kit very interesting. You see, he and I worked as DJ's together at KOOL FM back in the mid 70's. Yes, I never thought I'd follow in Dad's footsteps, but I did when I began my radio career in 1968.

It was such a thrill working with Kit because I used to listen to him while attending Scottsdale High in the early 60's. And then to actually get the chance to work with him!! He and I became great friends during our time at KOOL. From what I understand, he is now a practicing attorney out in California. Am I correct? Gosh I haven't spoken to him in years!!

At any rate, I now live in Nashville where I perform professional voice work. I lost my news anchor job with Cumulus a little over a year ago in a corporate downsize. I don't know about you, but I feel so lucky to have worked in radio during the years I did. It just isn't what it used to be.

Say, if you have Kit's number, I'd appreciate you passing it along. I'd like to catch up with him.

I thank you, sir. long live 1360 KRUX!!!

Warmest Regards,

Chris Peddie
