And today is!

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Today is my birthday!
The BIG 65!
But what was it like more than 40 years ago?

Now take a look at August the 2nd live in the KOOL Studio, with me leading Happy Birthday with Johnny Johnson holding a mike that you can’t see, so the singers can be heard on the air. I wish I [...]

Highway Safety?

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

On the 101 freeway, that is just a short distance from our house here in Scottsdale, the city of Scottsdale has been conducting a test of photo “speed’ cameras. Well, that test is over and now the state is moving in with newly purchased mobile photo equipment to capture speeders.
In preparation for the new [...]

Fire Blocking out the Sun

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

There is a fire on the west side of the valley and it is having an effect over our house. Take a look below at the Sun from our driveway.

This next picture shows the houses across the street and the smoke in our sky, miles from the fire.

Last night when the TV was covered [...]

We Live in a Great Country!

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

Today, after attending E3 church, Karen and I went back to the restaurant we went to on Friday for a lunch with friends. It’s close to E3, so it wasn’t a long drive. In addition, we liked the food that they served.
As we went in, I noticed that there were flags that you see [...]

Over 110 Degrees!

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

With the temperatures locally over 100 degrees lately. In fact if you go back a couple blogs you see that it’s hitting closer to 110 and 115 here in Scottsdale, it’s best that one drinks a lot of water. I suppose if you stay inside all the time, set the AC at 80 [...]

LOST

Monday, June 9th, 2008

This is the first time that I remember ever losing a tail light on a vehicle.
It didn’t happen after we were hit by someone.
All we were doing was driving on Hayden in Scottsdale and it apparently came off.
Now it wasn’t anything noticeable, in fact, had we not been flagged by a person in another vehicle [...]

More Sadness.

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Starting at the top, Len Ingebrigtsen passed away in 2003.
Johnny Johnson died before that. Back when I lived in Florida.
Duane Brady died in April 2008.
Bill Lester he passed in February of last year, 2007.
I just learned about the passings of Duane and Bill today.
That leaves Al McCoy and myself.
I think that Ed Hinkle died [...]

Arizona Quarter

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

It was announced today that the US Mint is releasing Arizona Quarters.

Here’s what it looks like.

Keeping Warm.

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

With the temperatures down here in the Valley of the Sun to the 60s, there are many of us who’s thoughts have changed from staying cool to think we should turn the AC back to the heating mode. Well so far I haven’t done that, the house is actually doing quite well staying [...]

60 Degrees. -2-

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

We just came back from lunch. Where we had a moment to talk with the first manager at that restaurant who has only two weeks to go before she gets married. We talked about just about everything with the exception of bridal lingerie.
Maybe after the honeymoon that subject will come up.
Then we ran a [...]
