Illegal Handicapped Parking - Saturday Save

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

This marks the second Saturday in a row that we have no run into illegal parking in Handicapped spots.
We don’t go out on Saturday looking for Illegal Parking. If we happen to run into it, I note it, if I have a still camera with me, I take a picture but didn’t run into [...]

Illegal Handicapped Parking Saturday -4- SAVE

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Here I’m again to report about Handicapped parking in the Scottsdale Arizona area.
We just returned after making two stops at two different locations. I’m happy to report that we didn’t find any illegally parked vehicles today in the Handicapped spots.
I can’t believe it either, but it’s true.
I did notice a lot of “Work Trucks” [...]

Everyday, it’s my job

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

What you see above is the left front wheel of Karen’s wheelchair, prior to me cleaning it. That is dust/dirt that is there after a hard day of use.

And Lord knows KK keeps her chair very busy.

They should have an odometer on them.

Now one of my jobs, and I do it each morning, [...]

Back Home again in Scottsdale!!

Saturday, April 21st, 2007

Karen’s (my wife) test yesterday in the hospital came out positive.  That was good.

And she was told she could come home.  She is back here at home, as of right now she has had a good night of sleep and ready to taken on another day.
With it’s nice to have her here thoughts in [...]

No, it’s not going to Help.

Thursday, April 12th, 2007

Can you believe it? Looks like being a liberal isn’t going to save Don Imus from being fired.  Don, it’s not your fault, it’s your parents fault.
I’m not going to explain that remark, but take a few minutes and I think it will come very clear to you.  Do I feel sorry for him [...]

Her Screams woke me! #5

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

When the Doctor did return, the news was good.  Karen had no broken bones.  Some bruises, but no broken bones.  That was very good news.  She had never broken a bone, hopefully she never will.  I haven’t either, for that matter.
Karen was given a couple shots for pain, along with a prescription and we [...]

Her Screams woke me! #4

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

Here’s a quick recap.
Karen, late Thursday afternoon got trapped under her desk when her power wheelchair’s controls got jammed into the desk itself. I was able to lift the desk and get her out.  But she was in pain.
Since she doesn’t do well out of her chair, calling for an ambulance that’s not equipped [...]

Her Screams woke me! #3

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2007

In the X ray room the two techs wanted to have Karen get on a table.   Even for me, that is no fun.  For Karen it’s even worst.  We told them in the chair, that’s it.  We were nice but firm.
It took awhile; a plate had to be put under her individual ankles, and knees.  [...]

Her Screams woke me! #2

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

One look in her eyes, and you knew that Karen was in pain.  The desk pushing down on her crossed left leg had done something to that leg as well as affecting her right knee and both ankles.
We’re not far from a hospital in Scottsdale.
I did not drive wildly though, it was [...]

Her Screams woke me! #1

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Thursday afternoon, just after 5 PM I dozed off while watching the local news.  Karen’s screams woke me.  Her office is only a few steps from where I was.  I followed her screams.
Karen was slumped over in her chair still screaming.  I was standing next to her and now could see that she had been [...]
