What memories. I was born and raised in Phoenix,Az. I was 12 years old in 1965. Listening to this audio post brought me back to the days of listening to KRUX on my transistor radio or in the car when my parents would let me tune it in. I hope you have more audio you can post.

Norm,
What a surprise to open this mornings paper and see your picture in it. I did not realize that you lived in Scottsdale. I fell in love with this place some 21 years ago and have been living here off and on since then, this time for the last 13 consecutive years. I originally moved here to work with KESZ. I remember KRUX well as a former Lotus station when you and I both worked together at KENO in Las Vegas. I stared out as the morning person on KENO-FM and then went to KENO-AM. You were our news anchor and the best sounding one in the market. Let’s see, that was 1977. My how time flies! Glad to see you’re doing well and enjoyed reading this mornings article in the Arizona Republic.
Steve LaBeau (know by the on-air name of Steve Summers at KENO)
