Friend’s Passing.
By Norm Seeley | August 13, 2010
Last night a little after 8 PM I had been down in my office and came back up front to find that Karen was outside. I went out to find she was watching a Fire Truck and Ambulance a the neighbor’s house across the street.
A few minutes later 3 Scottsdale Police cars pulled up. Then the Fire Truck and ambulance pulled away. Karen staid outside while I went in and out as I was doing something on my computer.
I was outside again when a 4th police looking vehicle drove up and a person got out and talked with a police office in the neighbor’s driving. We could not hear what they were saying.
I’d say 30 minutes pass, and two officers come out and come towards our driveway, at the end of which on of their vehicles has been parked.
Karen asks what is going on. We’re told that our neighbor Joe has passed away. They tell us it appears to be natural.
Joe was there before I moved in. He had retired by that time, and when I had the Wheelchair Van Rental Company he would follow me to bring me back to the house after delivering a van.
He was dependable and easy to work with, and was the type of person that you were happy to have as a neighbor.
Both Karen and I will miss him.
