What a weekend.
By Norm Seeley | June 21, 2010
It started on Friday Night.
We had two men working on replacing the Dry Wall in the Kitchen since just before noon Friday, then went to Dinner at Outback, only to return to find that GG our youngest cat had been sealed up in the wall, I thought that the rest of the weekend might go down hill.
With the help of our neighbor we cut a hole in the new dry wall and set a opened can of tuna on the floor, filled the whole house with the smell of tuna, and 3 and a half hours later, GG came out from her hiding place behind the wall.
Saturday was neutral. I really can say nothing bad about it, so let just say it turned out good.
Sunday, up early as we once a month man the Information Booth at Grace Chapel. That went well, not as busy as it’s been but that was not a problem. Did get a bottle of Dad’s Root Beer, something the church has been doing, I’m told, for several years. My first Beer…Root Beer in years and it wasn’t bad.
Then off to lunch at Marcella’s, an Italian Restaurant in Scottsdale Fashion Square. We had been there once before. The service was great, and that is kind of why I told Karen we should go there. Well the service was again great, but the food? Karen said that her lunch had absolutely no flavor at all. And my sandwich was to have had banana peppers in it…..I never saw one…or and more important tasted one.
Karen told our server that her lunch had absolutely no flavor, I just let it pass and left half of the sandwich uneaten. The server did remove Karen’s meal from the bill

We returned to the van and instead of heading home, I took Karen to the Yard House which is in another part of Scottsdale Fashion Square. I took her there because I know she likes their Creme Brulee. I had to make up for taking her out for lunch and it being so bad.
Our server at the Yardhouse, Kelsey made this experience totally make up for the mess at Marcella’s. Never again to Marcella’s for me. And I don’t think Karen will be going there again soon.
I guess really, I have had worse weekends, I did have a good Dad’s Root Beer, at church no less, and I have to be honest, the ice teas we had at either restaurant weren’t bad either.
