Meters
By Norm Seeley | April 26, 2010
In broadcasting and amateur radio one has to get used to meters. All kinds of meters.
When I started in broadcasting back in the 60s, right smack dab in the middle of the console were VU Meters. By looking at these you could tell how loud your program was. And with a volume control for each input it was easy to adjust the level up or down as needed.
In amateur radio, Amp and Volt meters on power supplies along with Volt/Ohm meters when testing resisters and capacitors on the inside of the gear come in very handy. There are also SWR/Watt meters to show what kind of signal output you have.
If you have been following my blogs, I have mentioned that I have had several Doctor’s appointments in the last few weeks. There, they use an oximeter , to check my blood oxygen level and pulse. Luckily for me, I have had good levels.
