I have a little box of 45RPM records from my youth in a closet somewhere.
And that number one tune on the KRUX hit parade – The Ballad of the Green Berets by Sgt. Barry Sadler is one of those 45s. If I recall it has a picture of him on the jacket. (It was always better to buy a 45 with a picture on it than just a plain sleeve!)
I think I might have California Dreamin’ in that box as well. And maybe Nancy Sinatra too… or was it Frank and Nancy singing “Something Stupid”?
Oh well…thanks for bringing up the memories.
Hope you are feeling alright!

Before I went on the air, my parents bought me a Record Player and I had some 45s and 331/3s. But then I went on the air. From that moment on, I played them on the air, but never bought another record. No, I didn’t take them from the stations for my own collection, I stopped having records at home period.
Still here. (20″, now that’s snow)
