Getting Older.

By Norm Seeley | December 2, 2009

Have you ever noticed that men my age still like toys ?

I sure do, but not the same kind of toys that I would receive at Christmas Time there at the house just down the street from Cheesman Park in Denver, Colorado.

In those days a set of building blocks or clay would make me very happy.  I remember that one year I received a Santa Fe Diesel and three Passenger cars , transformer and a circle of track from Lionel.  My brother got a freight train.  But I was very happy with my passenger set.  It was an F-7 Diesel from GM and it was and still is so cool.  Great Design.  Even today it looks great.

What kind of toys to I think of….that’s my secret.  Some are cheep and others EXPENSIVE.

No question that the Alco PAs were good looking, but the F-7 looked good on a cold steel rail and on an HO board as well.

I don’t think the average person, me included could tell the difference at first or even second glance.
