I like it better than film.
By Norm Seeley | September 2, 2009
As a teenager I used to spend hours taking pictures with a film camera. Back in those days, the 50s I had one of the first knock-off Japanese cameras but considering the price and the pictures it took, with my help of course, I was thrilled to death that I had such a devise.
But today the think is digital cameras . I’m lucky to have one, had it several years and I don’t know how many pictures I have taken. Hundreds, maybe even thousands. When I do start shooting, I shoot and shoot and shoot. My attitude is, with a lot of pictures, you are bound to have one that looks good. You take just one, and chances are it will not come out just the way you like it. So, when you consider, taking more than one picture is so easy and doesn’t really take that much time. Shoot away.
My camera is a Canon, and not only does it shoot stills, and you can set the aspect ratio of the stills you shot, along with all sorts of other setting, more than with a film camera, it also shot video. While the video is only shot in 4.3 not the wide-screen 16.9, that is easy to change when editing. Again, the stills can be adjusted to the let’s call it “size” to fit what ever you’re doing. That’s nice and very easy to do.
Back in the 50s, I could take 12 pictures then I had to put in a new roll of film. With my digital camera I can shot three, four, hundred stills at a time. Now that fits in with the “Shoot Away” theory.
