Living in my Past.
By Norm Seeley | June 30, 2009
Today, since I don’t have wheels, it was a stay at home day, so I thought why not clean the closet in my office.
My Past I guess has been crying out: “Find us again, Look at us…we miss you !”
Right off the bat I found over 40 some letters from listeners up in Las Vegas, where I was the News Director for KENO. The letters were thanking me for this or that, telling me that I did a good job on reporting this situation or had I not included them on a Public Service program, their even would have failed. Even one from the head of the FBI office on his retirement, thanking me for the outstanding job I had done when covering stories that involved his office.
I have to tell you, I remember getting that letter, and it meant a great deal then, and it’s nice to relive that moment. I was not expecting his letter at all.
I found instructions that I had put together on how to operate the news room equipment, and how to put together a news cast. Back in those days, my memory was good enough that I didn’t need such instructions, but I do remember that there were times when other people filled in when I was out of town or on vacation. I must have written them then.
I also found a lot of stuff from my days at KRUX here in metro Phoenix….including a picture with Leslie Gore at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
