Norm, I have been doing some demographic studies on Scottsdale about possibly planting a church. I ran across your comment about Pastor Mark leaving and then the comment by Paul. Just curious. I was interested in pastoring DVC when it was last opened. The eladership chose another man. I noticed today that e3 is now open again. I don’t know all the reasons but am interested again. I guess I’m one of these guys that believes dreams, plans, vision, whatever, can be resurrected or redirected. I liked what I saw of it before and think it still has a future. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you think killed it or caused a decline in the dream and what could give it “new life”? You can email me privately if you so desire. I’d love to hear your heartfelt comments. God bless.

Using the word Dream might not have been the right word to use. Plan might fit. Calling also could have replaced Dream. I also separate DVC from E3. There is still a Dream, Plan, Calling out there for E3.

Norm—I agree—in one sense, God’s plan is not a “dream” at all—mankind are the ones dreaming and there are those who finally “wake up” to Him—DVC and E-3 and any other church are merely little “stages” in that plan….after all, “all the world’s a stage”—but it’s really God’s stage, not ours, and all of the actors and actresses (all of us) merely act out a part of God’s plan, don’t we. And there are many others who watch us, whichever little stage (church, as it were) that we’re currently in–and we still have the same “Director” no matter what “stage” we’re currently at—and someday, we’ll all be reunited in the best “stage” of all–heaven! But, on that stage, we won’t be “acting” at all—it will be the final performance before the Director and we will all, everyone of us actors and actresses, be present at the same time and in the same place finally, to hear our Director say, “Good job! Wrap it up!” No more “little stages” after that! Until then, we can encourage and applaud our fellow actors and actresses (those who know the Lord) in all the scattered little stages (churches) as they bring God’s (the Director’s) great plan (NOT a dream) to completion and Final Cut! I just hope I’m a good actress….I do want to please the Director and hear Him tell me, “Good Job!”

Metro, As a man, I am sad the Dream of DVC is over, but God’s plans must have moved on. I don’t believe that Karen or I have been injured with the end of the DVC Dream, not at all. I believe that God wants me to be somewhere else, maybe even do something else. When the time is right, he will let me know what I’m to do. That too, I know will happen.
