Snow in the Air.
By Norm Seeley | November 9, 2008
Waking up this morning, I could see before I opened the blinds to our bedroom that there was a different tint of the sunlight coming through the bathroom glazed window. It was even more noticeable once the bedroom blinds were drawn. The sky, which is normally a bright Sun Arizona Blue was a dark gray from West to East looking out to the North as I do.
After the church service this morning, actually closer to Noon, the sky was no longer gray but the Sun was shining down on the court yards off the lobby area of our church. Back to being a typical Sun Shinny Arizona Day.
Now, mid afternoon, you can still see Sun looking out our front windows to the South, but now the trees are moving with the wind. Every single leaf is moving. I have the windows closed so I’m not hearing any wind noise. I bet if I were to open the windows, it would be there.
Today has reminded me of growing up in Denver and watching as the Day would start grey, go through a couple hours of Sun, then the wind would pick up and it would start to snow. By early evening, there would be an inch or so of snow covering everything outside. The lawn, the sidewalks, the trees and my car if I had not parked it in the garage. Depending on how long it snowed, would determine if you would get the tire chains. A lot of times when it snowed in Colorado, it would hit the ground and melt. Wet weather but little else.
At this point, I’m going to just wait and see if we will maybe get some rain. Snow? Out of the question.

Oh, darlin’! The day after this post we got our first snowy day here in Chemung County, Southern Tier of Upstate NY.
It happened similarly. Bleak sunniness to gray to heavy, pregnant clouds and finally, light snow all evening.
An all-weather coat with a warm, zipped-in lining is a lovely accessory in these parts.
