Special Day!
By Norm Seeley | October 18, 2008

I’m taking my bride, of over 9 years, Karen out for lunch today at the Pink Taco here in Scottsdale, at Camelback & Scottsdale Roads, for the official birthday celebration. Karen’s actual birthday was on Thursday and although we went to Red Robin, and as usual the service was extra special, it wasn’t the “official” Birthday party. While all the people at RR, as we call it, made Karen feel special, even sang to her, Happy Birthday. For those of you keeping track, the places we like to go here in Scottsdale, and let’s include Tempe, are RR, PT, and PG. All have great staffs and great food.
Also Thursday night there was an un-announced, that is to Karen, a “party” at our weekly E3 Life Group meeting with a very large wonderful cake that said, of all things, “Happy Birthday Karen”. It was good. We brought it home. Let them eat cake and cake and cake and cake.
Today though, it’s Pink Taco and some of Karen’s closest friends are going to be there too. I have been told, “No Video”. Pictures yes, but no video. I cried for a minute then realized, A, Karen is the boss, and B, it’s her birthday, so she is entitled to get her wishes.
Of all things to think of, but I was thankful that the still camera I have uses memory cards that plug right into several of my computers and it makes it so easy for me to download all my pictures and do with them what I want. Even my old video camera has a memory card in it that can store stills in addition to video.
At my birthday, I handed my camera to someone else but tomorrow, I think that I will be the photographer and I will take picture after picture, none stop. That’s normal for me.
