Saturday in the Land of Freedom.
By Norm Seeley | August 16, 2008
Here I am, on a Saturday sitting in front of the computer and typing away. That in itself doesn’t really sound like much, but it is.
I’m here in Scottsdale, sitting in an Air Conditioned office with a sold state computer sitting on the desk in front of me. The temperature is at 79 degrees inside, outside it’s 89 and climbing. The high is expected to be 103. Inside however it will stay at the 79, which is what our thermostat is set at. Before we added the programmable thermostat, I would have put the temperature at 74 or lower to stay cool. But with the programmable thermostat, I have gotten us to the higher temperature and enjoy the lower monthly electric bills. We have ceiling fans in each room that help keep the circulation moving and make sure it’s comfortable. That makes being here in the Desert enjoyable and livable. For the life of me, I can imagine living here without AC.
There are so many things that America has to offer. The list really goes on and on, and covers just about every thing you can think of from housing, availability of products, to, if the left doesn’t get control of our government, freedom of speech. It’ by far the greatest country. Has been, and lets’ hope it will continue.
It’s also where you can do what every you want, from franchise opportunities, to retirement. it’s all here.
During my 65 years, I have worked for others, started several business on my own, and had my ups and downs. That to me makes America Great.
Below is a video I shot in Old Town Scottsdale.
