Closing.

By Norm Seeley | August 8, 2008

One day last week, I was in the van, going to pick up something for Karen and I when a story came on the radio about the closing of a local bank.

Now I’m an old person, but I thought it was 2008 not back in the thirties.

My mind driffed for a second….only a second, I was driving, to Alert H. Wiggin, The New England Son.

It’s a long story maybe I will tell you later.

Any way the reporter when on with details about how a local bank was being closed but that depositors didn’t need to worry, as a National Bank had purchased it and would be re-opening the bank the following Monday.

I wasn’t concerned one bit, as I did not have any funds in that bank. It might have been different had I had something there. Maybe I should have felt a little compassion for those who did have money with that institution, but for what ever reason it never entered my mind, not for even one second.

My mind did for a moment or two dwell, on the Outer banks , and I really can’t tell you the connection.
