Friday’s Music
By Norm Seeley | June 13, 2008

This is another re-broadcast of Friday’s Music. It’s from almost a year ago. It’s a little shorter than the ones that I have been doing in the past couple of months. But it’s done as if I was reading DJ books.
If I remember correctly I did spend some time going through several books about the different artists who were featured to find out a little about them, drop it in, and also to refer to the time they were on the charts back in those days. I have about 5 or 6 such books that were gifts from my friend Ben up in Oregon. He also was nice enough to send a couple of CDs that are just full of music from back when I was on the air.
Every once in awhile, I will purchase music from on line and add it to Friday’s Music. That in itself isn’t so bad or expensive.
Considering that I was the Music Director for two stations, and used to be wined and dinned by the record promoters, (never took money though), I should really have a record collection that every one would be envious of.
But I didn’t take a record home.
Didn’t put together any sort of record collection. Just made sure the stations I was the Music Director of had the latest and most complete collection in their air library. Music was a big part of bringing in listeners. And I worked for stations that had plenty of those.
