Our Patio.
By Norm Seeley | May 9, 2008
Out house has a patio in the back. When I first moved into the house, it wasn’t there. Well, it was but not like it is now.
At first there was concrete there covering a good portion of the area right behind the house. There was a couple of doors that lead out to the back but the concrete pad was not covered. During the summer months it got a lot of SUN. A lot of Hot Arizona Sun.
To the West side of the house, there was a gate that opened out to the front, and it was big enough to drive vehicles through and the concrete was large enough for me to park not one, not two, but three wheelchair vans on the concrete and a couple on the grass. Since I was in the wheelchair van rental business, it was ideal for parking the vans there when I left the city for a couple of days. They were parked where they couldn’t be seen from the street. Out of sight, Out of mind. SAFE.
After KK got here, we had the opportunity to have a roof built over a good portion of the concrete there in the back. While it was not as easy to park vans back there, really just not as many, the fact that now we could spend more time out there made a lot of difference.
Before the “Patio” was built, it was not really a place were we spent much time. It needed something. Several things really. For one, outdoor furniture. Lights and a couple of fans. Well with a roof, we had a place to hang lights with fans and that we did.

So now, here we are….in Scottsdale Arizona with a small wonderful house with a nice Patio that can be used a lot more of the time than when it was just concrete.
