It’s Back
By Norm Seeley | April 14, 2008
On Friday night I got the very first video camera I ever owned back. It’ a Sony 740. I used it to tape the weekly services of Desert Vista Church. The video was put on to DVDs and given to members of the church to more or less review how the service went.

I didn’t have the Video Production Company back then, just did the taping as a kind of hobby. Later I went into owning and running a Professional Video Production Company and replaced the Sony with a Panasonic DVX-100A, a recorder/playback deck, and AVID editor.
Anyway, the 740 is an old camera but it has some great video and is capable of shooting in 16.9 which is Wide Screen. Not HD, but who really cares.
On Saturday, using on old tape, I shot video and learned very quickly that a video tripod is needed to really make the video work right. A still tripod, although it could work if you just aim the camera and don’t pan or tilt it, it would be all right,
Anything else, you need a video tripod. It is a must. Especially if you shake when using a camera in your hands.
Thats next.
