I can’t help but be thankful

I’m writing this on Sunday afternoon. Not a bright and cheery day here in Arizona. But I’m very thankful that we are here.

I’m thankful that we don’t have a government that comes after us because we send valentines cards to some one.

Thankful that we don’t have a government that arrests a woman for having coffee with a man.

Thankful that we don’t have a government that rounds up a group of men for flirting.

Thankful that we don’t have homicide bombers that feel free to strike pilgrims attending a religious anniversary.

With all the wonderful things that we have to be thankful for, I also hope that we and our leaders don’t loose sight of what is necessary to stand up to those who would bring this terror and life style to this country. This is not what America is about.

I spent part of today,  in church. The church of my choice. That God given right is also part of what makes America great. There is absolutely no other country or form of government like it.

I pray for our rights. I pray for the rights of others. I pray for our leaders, that they don’t put themselves before the rights of the public and the country. Again, that’s what America is all about. From the Desert Floor, in Scottsdale, I’m Norm Seeley.
