Super Bowl Money, Will it trickle down?
By Norm Seeley | February 2, 2008
This week has been one of those weeks in the Phoenix metro area that many of us could have done without.
There is no question that it has brought a lot of money into the valley. Although we are being told that we are in bad economic times, more than 250 private jets flew into the Scottsdale airport. Have no idea how many other private aircraft are at the other airports that dot the valley of the Sun. There could be just as many at those facilities as well. Don’t know.
On Monday, the day after the Super Bowl, more than 300 rental cars are due back to the Scottsdale Airport alone. Really shows how hard times are.
Over the past few days, all we’ve been hearing about and seeing on local television is the events going on including ones here in Scottsdale which is miles from where the game itself is going to be held. Take a look at my blog of January 31st.
Friday night, February 1st , KK and I couldn’t help but laugh when a local TV reporter interviewed Rock Legend Alice Cooper who lives in Phoenix and has a restaurant, at the 944 tent.

He said, “Yeah, we’re here at the Scottsdale Waterfront! Come on, it’s just a canal.”
In fact, that’s what it is, nothing more, nothing less, an Irrigation Canal.
How right he was. Can’t beat the truth! Way to go Alice!!!
The parties will continue tonight with the game tomorrow.
Hope some of that money finds it’s way to my street, to my house, and to us. I won’t lose any sleep.
