Not Once but Twice!

By Norm Seeley | January 28, 2008

Last Friday, January 25th, Karen and I went to Rubio’s for lunch. We like it there. But that’s not why I’m blogging.

We ordered our lunch and went out on their Patio. I started to get things together and heard a “Ping”. I notice that my wedding ring had slipped off my finger. Hitting the cement, the ring made a noise that both of us heard. And I suspect had we not been the only couple out there right then, the whole patio would have heard it. It was a very loud “PING”.

I can tell, you’re saying to yourself, Big Deal, your wedding ring came off. So What?

What makes this just a little interesting is this is the second time it’s come off. The first time, it was at Chevy’s in Phoenix. That time I didn’t notice that I had lost it until we were back home. We called, but were told that they hadn’t found a men’s wedding ring. Can’t tell you how upset I was.

About ten days later we went back to Chevy’s and were talking with the manager who we had known for a couple years and told him our sad story. He excused himself and said he’d be back. It’s a busy restaurant, so this didn’t bother us.

A few minutes later, he was back. He then handed me a ring.

My Ring!

Grins from Ear to Ear. My wedding ring had been found.

So now, maybe you can see that having the ring slide off again on the 25th. kinda meant something to us. Luckily we heard it, and I saw it as it hit the floor. It brought back some happy memories of finding it the first time it came off.

After Friday, I check for my wedding ring when I enter or leave a Mexican Food restaurant .
