If you’re a regular viewer here on Normradio.com, you already know that I spent part of my radio and all of my TV career up in Las Vegas Nevada.

I was at KENO Radio, as the news Director for maybe 5 or 6 years. That was primarily an early morning job, after a few years, I started working as a reporter for KSHO TV, Channel 13, during the rest of the day. I was also asked to do all the station breaks, which meant recording for about 30 minutes per day, all of the announcements that told of what was coming up next that was heard during the time between shows. Station Breaks as they were called. K - S- H - O, Channel 13, Las Vegas, ABC News is next. Or something very similar. It seemed like it wasn’t very long before I was asked to be the Anchor for the Late Night Newscasts. I did that for about a year. When promoted to the Anchor position, I left KENO.  A little hard to get up at 3:30 AM in the morning and work till almost Midnight Monday through Friday.
Living there as I did, it’s easy to spend time in the hotels Las Vegas . I made a friend when I first moved up there from here in Phoenix, who worked as a dispatcher for the Highway Patrol. She and I would make it a point to have breakfast together in one of the downtown hotels at least once a week. In those days, I was single, and it meant that I at least eat well.

Yesterday I was blogging about visitors here in Scottsdale. I have to tell you, while there in Las Vegas, I found that a lot of my friends seemed to find all sorts of reasons to come and visit me. I’m sure it was out of concern for my well being.
