Everybody Knows your Name.
By Norm Seeley | November 19, 2007

At church yesterday, I was asked to participate in a skit during the service. It was something I could handle.
All I had to do, is stand at the back of the auditorium, and listen for my cue, “Where everyone knows your Name.” and walk up to the front. Well, I have been able to walk, left foot, right foot for a few years now, so I felt I was up to the job.
I heard my cue, and just like the Norm on Cheers I bounded in, saying “Hi Everybody”. Had there been kids in the audience, they might have thought it was Santa…..no red suit though. As I came up to the front, those on the stage, Pastor Mark Einersen, Pastor Brad Larson, Wes and Jeremy all were saying “HI NORM!”
I shook hands with Pastor Mark, said Hi to Wes, Jeremy, and Pastor Brad there on the stage and headed for my seat.
I was done.
Karen was laughing her head off.
OK, I had done my bit.
After church in the parking lot, I walked up to someone, (a person I don’t know) and said, “Hi, I’m Norm Seeley, my wife and I would like to invite you to lunch.” He responded, that he would like to but, had an appointment. We talked for a moment, about arranging to do it on another Sunday.
As I turned to go back to our van, he looked at me, and asked me……”What was your name?
Then I guess it hit him, (the skit from the service…..)
“Oh” he said, as a smile started to cover his face……..
“…..It’s Norm…….”
A church where everyone knows your name……
