My Rock’N Roll Early Life at KIMN & KRUX

Thanks Ben for the Audio….better late than never!

On Monday of this week I received a DVD from my friend Ben, who lives up in Oregon.

Ben is a collector of music from the 60s and 70s.  Those were the days when I worked for KIMN in

Denver, Colorado and KRUX that served the

Phoenix area.  Both rock stations.  Both AM radio stations, that are no longer on the air.

Back then, I was a DJ and Newsperson on KIMN, but down here at KRUX, after about three months, I was promoted to the music Director.  I talked with record companies daily.  Talked with record industry giant, Bill Gavin, who put out a weekly sheet on what records were hot, what records to play, and what not to play.  I could have had all the records I wanted.   But, I didn’t ask for one, played them on the air, but never at home.  I never even thought (maybe once) of starting a collection.   Ben has a collection and was nice enough to send me several hundred on the DVD.  WOW!!!

With Norm’s Rock ‘N Roll Early Years thoughts in mind, from

(Da, I will pass on some audio when I figure out what I have to do. )
