NO DRIVE…NONE AT ALL!

By Norm Seeley | March 13, 2007

Here it is pushing 10:30 PM on Monday the 12th.  I have to tell you, I have no drive to record a podcast for tomorrow.  Look closely at your screen; I don’t have any drive to even think about a podcast for tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.   Can you believe it?    I can.  And I do. Awhile back I was zipping out podcast like cupcakes in a bakery.  But I am no where near that level this week.  Yesterday’s podcast was recorded last Friday, and it was done early in the day too.   I included a picture yesterday, and had a question about where is George Maupin, who was in the picture with me, is now.  I don’t know.  I haven’t talked to him, since back at channel 13.    Back then, I made someone angry outside of the station, carried a story that was true that a reporter had told that someone wouldn’t not be carried, without first checking with me, it was my job to pick the stories that were aired.  Well, to make a long story short, the man had “pull”, he controlled advertising dollars on the station, and guess who was sent packing?   Bingo, ME. Every time I think about getting fired from channel 13, I put it in the column as one of those blessing in my life.  I’d love to tell you who it was, but I won’t.   He’s still in Nevada and just a few weeks ago, there was a news story about him…..things haven’t changed much.

With I don’t lose sleep over Channel 13 thoughts in my mind, in

George Maupin is currently the morning weatherman at KHQ-6 the NBC affiliate in Spokane, WA.
He has worked there since 1993 as a producer, and got the job of weekend weatherman when the then current weatherman was called up for duty in Kosovo. This was in the late 1990’s
He was promoted to the morning show due to his high ratings in 2002 or 2003.

Before moving to Spokane, he was a sportscaster in Las Vegas in the late 80’s early 90’s and worked around the southwest in Palm Springs and Las Vegas back and forth for the 2 decades before that.
