You’re not bad looking when you smile.

So what happened to George Maupin?
Interesting that you were an anchor in Las Vegas. I lived there from 72-75. When I was there I attended Trinity Temple Assembly of God church. As I recall, there was a high school kid that graduated in 1975 whose name was Rob who was interested in radio and TV broadcasting. In the summer of 1975 I was getting ready to move to Southern California to attend USC school of medicine; he was also getting ready to move to Southern California to attend Ajax School of Broadcasting (not it’s real name, but some school I think in the San Fernando Valley that did a three or six month course in broadcasting.)
I remember I spent some time trying to convince Rob that he should go to a real school and get a real degree in communications. He wasn’t convinced by my arguments.
I did see him once a few months after moving to Southern California, and he seemed to be doing quite well. A few years later in 1977 I was visiting some church friends in Las Vegas with my trophy-wife-to-be and asked about Rob.
It turned out that once he finished his course at Ajax school of Broadcasting he was able to get a job at one of the Vegas TV stations and had wound up as one of their news anchors — at age 21 or whatever.
So much for my advice. And I suspect he was your competition back in those days.
Oh, one other comment — can you do something about the fonts in the comment section — the text is hardly readable.

George Maupin? I don’t know.
As to the comment section, we are looking into that.
